Mpowerment Life Coaching

Mpowerment Life Coaching

When local business woman Melissa Butt decided she wanted a break from the world of Telecommunications, she trained and qualified as a life coach.

We arranged her website and email, and all the technical help she needed for a slick presentation and business launch at a local conference facility.

Get Online Week 2010

Silver Surfers are going online !

As part of this year’s Get Online Week we decided to get “out there” into the community and find someone who wanted to know all about the wonders of computers and the internet. We asked friends and customers to help find us a local person who was interested in learning to use computers and the internet for the first time.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of a Sheffield housing estate we found a willing participant – someone who wanted to learn but didn’t know where to start. . . Ann (that is her real name) has lived in Sheffield all of her life.

She has 4 children, 5 grand children and 2 great grand children. Many years ago most of her family lived next door, or just across the road. Today, the family has spread out a bit and keeping in touch has become more difficult.

Like many people of her generation, Ann has seen more www’s then she cares about and all of the simple things like managing money and booking a house repair seem to have become more difficult.

It's never to late to learn !

Not knowing where to turn can for help also be a bit embarrassing especially for people who have always been so independent.  With help from Inclucity, Ann is now happily using Facebook, Twitter and MSN Messenger to chat to the family when they’re away.

And for the days when she’s just had her hair done, there’s a webcam so that she can see and hear them as well! Ann lost her husband, Frank over 25 years ago and his photo has never left her table. However every time she switches on her computer, his face is there on the screen.

Not only that but there are also photos posted by her grandchildren so she can keep tabs on what they’re doing. Perhaps they might start being a bit more careful with the content of their pictures now they know that the head of the family is watching!

To make sure she kept up with her family news, Inclucity was pleased to present Ann with her own home computer which is now installed in her living room. We decided that this was the best place as it’s easy to get to and is in the room she uses most. After all, what would be the point of keeping it tucked away upstairs ? Out of sight and out of mind.

We also demonstrated the Apple iPAD which we hooked up to her wireless internet. Once she realised that she could read articles from the Sheffield Star and watch the BBC news, we knew it was going to be difficult to get it back again!

” I’ve never had the confidence to surf the web, but it’s really simple.” Inclucity’s General Manager, Pete Stockdale also presented Ann with an inclucity goody bag – she’s vowed to keep the bag and mug for herself but the chocolates will go to the kids!

We are pleased to accept payment by either cash or credit/debit cards. Our engineers carry portable card terminals or payment can be made over the phone with a member of staff in the Inclucity Office. In some circumstances, payment can be accepted by a guaranteed cheque. Please ask us for further details.

Information about our 03 telephone number03 numbers are included in any discount schemes or inclusive call minutes that you may already have with landline or mobile phone operators.

Our customers only pay the same amount as a landline call to an 01 or an 02 number. And the price is the same for calls from mobiles. 03 numbers are non-geographic, giving your business a valuable UK-wide presence.

They work in the same way as 08 numbers, but with one big, and customer-tempting, difference: the cost of calling them. Ofcom, the telecommunications regulator introduced 03 numbers so that consumers could have “confidence in the cost of their calls”. The Ofcom website is here

Your Internet Browser is the software that shows web pages on your screen. Last year the EU insisted that Microsoft give Windows users a choice of browsers. That time has come in the form of the “Browser Selector” window! From March 1st, most computers that have “automatic updates” turned on will show a special selection screen that asks the user to select an internet browser. The choice is yours, but if you need help deciding then the team at Inclucity is on hand to help you make sense of it all !

Is your home / office broadband giving you everything you need?

Talk to us about your internet connections and let us see if we can resolve your problems and maybe even save you some money.

Does your computer cost the earth? You may be sick of being told to reduce your carbon footprint. What can you actually do that will help the environment and why should you bother? We’re not ecologists or scientists but we do know that “going green” can have other benefits as well as helping to save the planet. Do you know how much electricity your technology uses? Much of that power is simply wasted when things are left switched on and not used. The rest of it turns to heat and helps to warm up your room as well as the earth. If that sounds like a waste of energy then remember it’s also a waste of money as well. (That probably got your attention…) So what can you do to help? Book yourself an energy consultation from Inclucity and find out ! We have some special gadgets that can measure the amount of electricity you’re using (or wasting) and how much it’s all costing. Sometimes just switching things off isn’t very practical – especially for offices. Here’s a good example of how we worked with a client to save them some cash and help save the planet: Cleveland Trade Union Centre, Middlesbrough, UK This computer training centre has 2 classrooms and over 30 PCs are in use each day. To make sure the computers were ready to use every morning they were simply left switched on overnight. We programmed the computers to automatically switch themselves off each evening and then back on again early in the morning before anyone arrives. We were also able to identify some of the centre’s older computers that were using more power than the newer PCs – these were the first to be replaced ! Call or email us today to arrange your Energy Consultation !
